667, Dark Avenue is the residence the Baudelaire Orphans live in when under the care of Jerome and Esme Squalor. They live on the top story and, due to the ammount of money Esme has, in a 71 bedroom apartment. When they arrive dark is "in" so street and building are dark. A few days after they move in with the Squalors they discover a sinister plot designed by Esme Squalor. Esme said that elevlators were "out." When the Baudelaires opened the second pair of elevator doors they find an empty elevator shaft which served as a tunnel for Olaf to use as his headquarters for his latest scheme.
